its about clark kent growin up through high school and college. the spiderman movies copied the formula that smallville uses. i.e. it focuses a lot on the human emotional side of clark kent instead of just showin super powers like most super hero movies do

Smallville is the stuff. I have all of season 6 and all of Season 7 on my hard drive. I guess that happens when you don't have cable... However, I think I am liking the direction they are taking.

The best twist of plot resides in Lionel. It is incredible that he is going to be able to play both sides of the fence.

What i really like about Smallville is that it kind of keeps to the basics of 'Superman' as we know it.. BUT still adds a few wists so it can hold up on its own merit.

He can fly. He has flown. He just isn't very good at it. The only thing Clarke is missing now is being Super-smart. Oh, and he still reads books the slow way.

ya, he has the ability of flight, but only knows it while in Calel(a so it spell) mode. I believe that as he continues to learn from Jorel (a so him name spell) then that ability will be unlocked

I was always a Lana fan but in the new season for some reason chloe start creeping into ma head. But lana all di way, look how many sides to lana we have, eg. Vampire Lana - Hot, Witch Lana - hotter, the list goes on.

I think it is about time Clark ascends. I mean, since he isn't going to be straight with Lana then he should just call it quits. He could be so advanced. Oh, and BRAINIAC!

Brainiac is so cool, and so subtle, even darker than lex in keeping appearances. I was hoping in searching for a solution to this rabies thing he would go to his vault up in the ice and research something. i was hoping he would be juss tuffer in this episode. Not to say it wasnt great tho, it was, up up and away!

Remember that Clark isn't super-smart. He has always been pretty dumb. Funny part of episode 5 is when Chloe told him that Lana seemed to have a problem and he rushed right over. That was hard. How he did that without getting seen or felt is a mystery though. Lana felt warmth- she not too smart either.
I wonder when Clark will visit the Fortress again. He should be thinking of developing himself and becoming stronger. He doesn't need university- he needs good old Kryptonian education.

I love this season because it is more than a freak of the week show like the four seasons prior. This one has depth and an underlying story. I am going to stop reading the spoilers though- they really do ruin it.
Brainiac isn't snooping around though, he is more like information gathering. Lex is Clark's mortal enemy. I don't know how the alignment is going to turn out. I have no idea what Brainiac's plan is for Clark and Lex but he obviously has plans for them both.
Brainiac and Jor'El have the chance to play the field any way they want. I think Clark is going to be slow to run back to the fortress while Lex continues to quickly get more dangerous.

No sign of Brainiac last episode. That was kinda disappointing. Clarke didn't pay pop a visit either. What is he doing- really... It didn't feel like a freak of the week episode, and I prefer that the most.

For once we agree on something. Season 4 was good but it could have been so much more amazing if they built a richer story. This is their chance to make amends once and for all though. This story can be so different and definitive.

Well, hopefully they get back on track next week. These are like filler ups and the comics are the manga. Except they aren't going with the comics... cause there was no smallville.

Episode 7 of the new season is out! If you haven't seen it by now then too bad.

Brainiac has finally revealed himself. It is difficult to determine at this time where he plans to stand in the scheme of things. He has declared himself a Kryptonian who is only interested in Clark realizing his destiny. Clark as usual will hear none of that argument. While it is obvious that Brainiac set the tone for the entire unfortunate circumstance Clark had to endure it is difficult to accurately deduce the effect this will have on the future.

Will Clark revisit the Fortress and have a talk with good old biological dad or will the show resume it's usual freak of the week. It is a much richer experience when the series goes beyond the misguided meteor mutants and develops Superman's persona directly.

um a lil question. how does braniac look android with human like exoskeleton or straight metal. and how's the biological dad available to clarke, hologram with detailed memory banks of the father??

Brainiac looks like an android. He seems to have the ability to change his physical structure- molecular manipulation or some function of his android like ability. He has a rahtid spaceship though and he can harden into metal and have soft skin at will.
Kalel talks to Jor'El in the fortress of solitude. He just sounds like a voice in the ceiling. Jor'El briefly possessed Lionel Luther as a vessel he can use to communicate. It seems like somehow Jor'El's will stayed with Clark. For a period Clark was able to shout at the cave and get a booming response. I am not sure what technology those aliens use.

Speaking of possession... the episodes after the fortress of solitude incident don't show indication that Clark remembered what happened. There is zero recognition or flashback or incident. It is almost like Clark completely forgets about the whole thing. How can you move on like nothing happened when you have a big fortress to train and get stronger and your father possessed your archenemy?

Don't the episodes get better and better? The story is digging into the mythology so deeply. Clark almost destroyed his fortress. Atleast he went though. Jor'El isn't such a bad guy afterall. I hope he is smart about this.

At this point they can spin it in any direction they want. It seems like they would be maintaining the original integrity of the story by killing the parents- and not necessarily carving out a new series.

Smallville is really just the basic principal of Superman before his "heroic" days. It actually portrays him going through all of the changes as a young adult, his powers, love, etc.. I actually like the series.
