Yes friends, there will be a Halo movie. Peter Jackson (director of LOTR) will be involved, but b4 you wet yourselves in excitement, he's the exec. producer, and will be doing very little and have little say in the movie. Still, given the success of Lord of the Rings, if he even breathes on it it'll be good. Expected date: sometime in 2007. Live action and cg scenes will be integrated. I'm hoping its good, cuz video game adaptations on film have left much to be desired (eg. tomb raider, street fighter) More news as it develops.

its gonna be some kick ass action though.. I"ll probalby watch it as i do everything except hell boy and them other lame ass movie that didn't deserved to be created.

@cleric There is a splinter cell movie in the making. the promo was on the chaos thoery cd. I'll take alook at it in a minute. I"m trying to softmod my new xbox at the moment.

Speading rumours about microsoft again. I can see why they would want to have a movie on the number 1 Xbox launcher.

I think this would be an unnecessary movie. How deep is the plot, and how movie worthy? See Hitman thread... that is where the good movie is at.

Halo story's been done in the game so i'm really not sure what direction they're going with the movie. If its a continuation like the final fantasy VII advent children was to the game which was made years before. Or will the game be the same story as the game [ cant be would be lame as ever if they did that ].

As I see it Microsoft is taking a big gamble on the Halo movie. If its good, it could boost the popularity of the franchise. If its a bomb, it could make potential fans shy away from it and maybe lose some existing ones. I guess that' s why they got Peter Jackson in on it.
