It would appear that ATI is getting better since being bought out by AMD. If their driver base gets better as well I may be tempted to switch.

I do like how most of their cards include hardware DVD decoding, TV-out, TV-in, and video editing functionality. But yeah, drivers need lot of work. And their TV tuners/video input often suffered from poor reliability and having way too much interference.

drivers definatly need work. especially on the linux operating system platform. We have to wait till forever for driver updates so we often dont get the best out of our hardware. what a price to pay for using an opensource operating system.
