BASILISK
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/rondrae96/basilisk2.jpg
Koga and Iga were ninja clans that had been fighting for 400 years. Gennosuke of Koga and Oboro of Iga, loved each other and promised to break down the cursed bond of conversion. However, they were destined to kill each other.
Story
Basic underlying theme is love and hate, between two individuals and two clans respectively. Basilisk could easily be look on as the Romeo and Juliet storey of the anime world. Basilisk doesn’t get much deeper than this which is why it was sort of lacking. There are vague instances where they try to shed light on the situation with the tokugawa heirs and the reason behind the peace treaty being lifted between the iga and toga clans.
Clans and Characters
Character Development wasn’t key in basilisk. Characters don’t really last long enough for you to get to know them, in most of the cases. The characters that you do get to know though, you will either really really really hate, or really respect them.
The kouga clan can be viewed as peaceful and subtle while the iga clan contains more bloodthirsty, battle crazed fools.
Sound
Battles where nicely intertwined with the music; not perfect but commendable work, very well done. The voice actors did a superb job in displaying hatred towards other characters, sincerity and a true sense of care towards others.
Value
I”ld say stick it out make sure you watch the whole thing with an open mind and you’ll see that it’s a pretty good anime, I’ld watch it again for sure. Basilisk defiantly was enjoyable. All in al Basilisk is good anime that was defiantly worth the watch.
