Video / Animation - Perfect. Would not change a thing. Great caricature work, Great animation and movement of the characters, NO horrid dumbed down animation to pass through fight scenes No lazy animator tricks. Just pure gun battling, samurai sword slashing, Malaysian female knife throwing, rpg firing eye candy.

Sound - another hammer on the nails head. They got it quite right. Voices were great. I was very surprised with how they pulled the language difference between the people in the anime. Meaning everyone seems to speak Japanese up until they leave the gutter island called ranapur on a translation job in japan. Then you realize they were speaking English all along and don't know a single syllable of Japanese. I was kinda shocked but i liked it.

Re-Watch Value - For the action its high. But the story isn't all that strong for it to captivate you in the same way it did initially.

Character Development - This is where it falls on its face. Character development relative to quite a few.. and when i say few i don't say it sparingly. the main Boss of the anime gets a lot of back story Revy who's one of the major characters spills a little of her past.. The nun from the church of war Gave us maybe 2 sentences about her past and it wasn't on purpose and that was that on character detail development.

Black lagoon is worth the time to Watch though. The action speaks for it self.

Yes, from that pic, all the females in that anime could kick any of the men's asses.

For me. Personally its because it lacked character development on the part of back story. I know nothing of dutch, benny. Nothing much about revy, nothing much about eda from the church of war and nothing about the boss of all boss's triad chang. Thats where it falls down for me.

as well as the story.. it really isn't that strong. its just fun action. shoot and blow stuff up action. presented in a real world fashion. Thats it. re-read the review you'll get it.

I'm sure that in one or 2 of the eps them did touch a small portion of the characters background, except chang I think

nobody else. I just saw it. So its fresh in my mind. Revy got short scenes of her history.. absolutely nobody else.

Not all animes have character backgrounds, or need them because the anime is so short in length that its not a necessity.

Whatever, its pretty much your opinion on what stats you give it.

Heard it was pretty good and the chick is hot.. heard she could be a real B*t*h though

I really liked this show. Short, sweet, and didn't really try too hard to be something it wasn't. chalk full of female heros (or anti-heros, really)

Hot women with guns, do you need more.
