Before I go on Let me give the diffintion for the two, I'm a wikipedia man so here goes:

No what I wanna know is if you see a difference between the two not via the definition but from what you've seen, I've seen quiiite a few of both, and i seem to prefer ecchi. The artwork in Ecchi's in my oppion is generally superb compared to anime but then it might be related to the titles that I've seen, La blue girl versus onegai sensie. Their is only one hentai that I have seen that has outclassed most ecchi I've seen and it's bible black. superb animtion work and detail onthe female characters and curvitures required to make them look believable and some times unbelievable if you knwo what i'm saying :tup no :2tup

Hentai seems to me a bit too much too excessie and ecchi just suggestive enough to leave your imagination to do the rest if you so decide. What are your views on echi and Hentai Which gets your pick?

Well as said before i dont mind either one.

Hentai to raw for my liking. And the tentacle like stuff.. damn things are growse. demons with like 10 tentacles each with a head* of course. penetrating all different holes multiple times. and wrapping breasts at the same time with em.. kinda odd.

I guess I prefer ecchi more so than hentai. Death_knight through some pretty good points referring to the tentacle stuff. Is that really appealing to some people? If it is good for you, but gives me the creeps a bit...

Some ecchi titles I know of are;

1. Green Green
2. Girls Bravo
3. Dears
4. Ikkitousen s1 and s2(I guess you could condier this an ecchi... Just an action packed version, lol.)

Both have their place IMO. Some for the story, some for the kicks and some just for watching sake. DRAGON PINK is hentai, and it has a decent story and is funny. BIBLE BLACK is hentai as well, but the story is sad from any side you want to take. USAGI CHAN DE CUE is ecchi, and has lots of funny stuff in there. LOVE HINA is ecchi, and the story is good - arguably so by some people - but good overall.

All in all, the stories are what interest me - not the same for some people - and it all depends on what you want to see. As for the tentacle stuff, Japanese are into that kinda thing and like seeing it. No idea why, but hey, whatever rocks your boat.

Usually demon type stuff is what they portray for such stuff, and I think it's more about the end result of a girl being violated is where the turn-on is for some people. And maybe some of the women who watch it fantasize about getting it everywhere....

definitely not the same. Ecchi is more suggestive. yes it does include nudity but there's never full on home base sex included in ecchi. Its always suggestive. if it gets to the level of the characters having sex the viewer is left to imagine.

Hentai show's all. all actions all acts everything happening. There is no visual censors.

i beg to differ.... highly disagree with that.. in my humble opinion hentai rarely have good storylines if any at all. it moves from sex scene to sex seen in under 3 or 5 minutes. there can easily be 6 or so sex seans in one hentai episode of an anime which lasts roughly 20 - 24 minutes.. where is there room for story, character and plot development.

ecchi on the other hand only uses the characters sexuality / sensuality / perversion to supplement the actual story.. (now if the story is good or bad thats another thign but it will get more focus than in a hentai feature)

sometimes i get a craving for hentai but after seeing it i'm like "what the hell was that...." and realize that it was comletely pointless and all the sex and exposure didn't satisfy me at all. that's why i prefer ecchi, because it can be funny, cute, sexy, witty and although it's rare, can have a pretty deep story. not to say that all hentai is just mindless screwing though, but it just has so much less "substance" than a good ecchi
