I don't know about anyone else, but I LOVE my anime music. I've got a decent collection, and I do have a habit of milking some songs that stick out to me. Some startup and ending songs just can't die. ChrnoCrusade had a beautiful start/end theme. Witchblade's end theme is nice as well. Currently I'm listening to the "AIR Piano Arrange Album" - particularly because the piano is one of my fav. instruments. I dabble around the ivories, but I can't play too well.
Aside from AIR as an anime, I'm also listening to what tracks I have from the AVATAR animated series - mostly like rips from TV, but they're still decent.
Overall, I love music - and not comparing what we have locally - but most (not all) Jamaican music is crap. I'm an instrumental person still, so some of the "riddims" sound decent, but the lyrics to them are really sick and make no sense.
Check the translation for just about every anime soundtrack - the songs have deep meanings. I hope some others find this true as well, and don't skip the opening/ending themes. I find it important to watch them at least once, and each time the themese change per season of a show I watch those as well.
Not to leave them out - Game Music is ULTRA HYPE!!! Gamers will agree. Whether it's a fighting game or adventure, they always seem to find the right music for the right scene and mood. Final Fantasy anyone? Chrono Trigger? Legend of Mana? Star Ocean?
Tracks I find nice are from different anime, here's a short list of those from the top of my head:
ChrnoCrusade
Chobits
Bleach
Naruto
Avatar (North American Animation)
Rurouni Kenshin
Hanbun No Suki Ga Nobora Sora
Air
Kiddy Grade
Appleseed
From games, it's a tall list as well:
Final Fantasy 6-9 (haven't played past 9)
Chrono Trigger/Cross
Secret/Legend of Mana
Mario Kart
Super Smash Brothers
DragonBallGT: Final Bout
Guilty Gear
Just to name the first few that came to mind - either because I'm watching/playing them now, or they stand out. There are many others, but it's a tall list. You can just check my anime list in the appropriate section to see which anime I have the soundtracks for as well.
