40 gigs in my notebook, 20 gigs as an external hardrive so i got 60 in all. and in terms of system memory, i only have 256 mb.. how pain full it is :(

I have an 80gig on the house system (soon get another) and a 40gig in the laptop. Re memory, 256 in both house system and laptop, each will also soon get an increase

Well i got rid of one of my 160GB HD's and got a 200GB SATA drive (200GB+120GB) then i have another machine (mythTV) that has 200GB IDE drive.
Almost forgot a machine ia haven;t really tunred on for like over 2 months.. that has 40GB's (use to be me LDAP/Samba PDC server)
That space should hold me for awhile... in about 2 months or so will change out the 120GB IDE for another SATA :D

If you plan on more then you'll need more space. There is a ZIP file attached with my MANGA directory fully parsed and sized. Have fun with it. May give you an idea of what you'll need. InuYasha, Bleach, Naruto mangas are still ongoing.

And BADINFLUENCE, your machine is not lame. It's just on my part, after paying bills and such, I usually dump the rest of my cash on my girlfriend and my machine (yes they are two different individuals). My girlfriend is somewhat independent, but I still get her stuff, so the rest of the cash I would spend on my machine. These days tho, it will run what I need it to, so I spend the rest of my cash paying debts, like COURTS and such. As a "young" man living on my own, it's difficult at times, but there's always my girlfriend, and the internet, and games, and anime. Those will keep me going. All you need to do is get the items one at a time and build on it. Get a motherboard first, then the processor. Then you can contemplate memory or hard drive, after those it's just a screen and keyboard and mouse. Headset and/or speakers after, and you're set. You'll spend roughly 30-40grand on all of that, but if you buy one each month (@ 7k per item for the more expensive ones) you should have a decent machine in 4 months or such.
