"Techies" UNITE!!!

Been thinking of a project we "should" do. Cricket World Cup suppose to bring a crapload a tourist. The complex them building inna trelawny look impressive

As a host country, Jamaica is required to develop a comprehensive Event Hosting Plan as stipulated by the International Cricket Council. Some elements of the Event Hosting Plan currently being undertake include:

* Information Technology & Communications
Telecomm is all we interested in. Now my plan is simple.. WiMax is gonna be rolling out soon Cdub and Digi. more than likely you gonna have wagonists. We should be one of them. Hotspots are gonna be popping up like crazy b4 2007.

Kingston and Trelawny is where the action is gonna be happening.. Portland cant lef behind. Therefore I believe we/ I should build a site seperate from the Synergy but still promotes the Synergy and has a list of most if not all Hotspots from Negril to Morant Point, from the green hills of Walkers.. to the cool hills of Coopers .. screw it

A list of Hotspots that cover the entire island. But the most important part of this all is that we should charge them a likkle ting. $100 or so.. no need to rape them, thoughts???

I can probably get c&w to jump on our bandwagon... "mi a beg a bligh for that comment", but the emphasis should be placed on small businesses. If we can boost business for them then thats more business for us. The plan still needs wrinkling out but i think its flawless. One of my better ideas, if i do say so myself..

Just like how google pay you to advertise for them, they pay us to advertise for them.

Based on the info found i saw on ICC's site we should be able to pull it off

so let me get this straight unu want people pay $$$$ just to find out where dem can get wireless net access. nuff site do that fi free (overseas). but if unu do it and mek money more power to unu.

hav u tried finding out who incharge of building the official web site for the boring games world cup, bcuz one could always get contracted to build a site documenting the project so fans can now wat to expect, pix of construction in progress, maps for those who plan to rent cars and info on the security measures bein taken. if someone does this site semi-independently they could charge hotels and other biznizes in close proximity for ads on the site. that way peeps can know where they can stay and maybe even get discounts if they heard about the hotel by visitin the site.
charge shopping complexes for ads, places like soveriegn (hwever it speel) that r enclosed and offer movies food shopping can b central gathering points for fans. make a pitch to all store owners so the all get together and pay for ad space (if they want) so u advert sov. and then u can delve within the ad for information on the various shops inside the shpping centre.
fans wanna party so get quad and di rest of those clubs to advert.
hav fans return to the island for A.T.I. more possible ad revenue
chukka cove/blue, dolphin cove, dunns river, rafting on which ever river, place in blk river where james bond 007 dr. no was shot and even couple all inclusives even tho i prefer the idea of ppl marketing us as more than just a place where u lounge on the beach, offer fans/tourists summin original.
for even more money one cld host video of certain attractions such as chukka cove/blue canopy tour and sea trek

and wldn't it b best do do all that stuff for the worldcup time frame if possible, seein as how we r expected to hav a tonne more of visitors than normal, before world cup would b the prime time to get $$$ via the means i mentioned, y wait till aftr world cup to get those things into place

good question... i think this is a good idea..... but would it only be for the world cup season? or an ongoing thing?

was for wold cup season the project idea was sorta half baked and wasn't thought through properly. good effort though.
