One thing i've noticed... Looks are not everything :D
when u start setting up and configuring stuff Suse tends to put things in different places than the norm.
But Novell is moving up... they are the ones who came up with xcompiz i believe.
Does SuSE 10 come with xorg 7???

XGL (http://www.novell.com/linux/xglrelease/)
Compiz (http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz)
Compiz combines together a window manager and a composite manager using OpenGL for rendering. A "window manager" allows the manipulation of the multiple applications and dialog windows that are presented on the screen. A "composite manager" allows windows and other graphics to be combined together to create composite images. Compiz achieves its stunning effects by doing both of these functions.
Trust me it TUFF... TRUE transparency and nuff niceness.
Good part is that it uses ur GPU.... so ur CPUU is left to work on other things. Takes multitasking to another level. :kakashi

Introduction to Compiz/XGL (http://compiz.blogspot.com/2006/03/introduction-to-compizxgl.html)

The way you get Compiz and Xgl will vary depending on which distribution you are using.

about 10 minutes ago i think i set up xgl/compiz wobbly windows in ubuntu breezy.. :p however my gpu on my dell isn't that great apparently so.. yeh i had to switch back to xwindows :(

@virus the only thing suse has over ubuntu is a gui installer... its a big bloated distro.. it was ince back in the day for me, i loved the concept of ldconfig and SuSECONFIG, that was probably one of my favourite things cause i realize that sometimes in ubuntu i see that i need to restart.. while in suse i never restarted ldconfig then suseconfig would basically be like a soft restart.
